Re:WLM

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Compagnia dell'Arte dei Brentadori edificio - Sala Borsa.webp. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.

Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own).

Warning: unless the permission information is given, the file may be deleted after seven days. Thank you.

The license page on the source indicates a CC-BY-NC-SA license, which is incompatible with Commons. Adeletron 3030 (talk) 02:07, 10 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hello @Adeletron 3030, thank you for your message. It's really a sad news. Biblioteca Salaborsa (a public library of Bologna) was a pioneer in offering his content under a free licence, and some librarians are long-standing Wikimedians. Their website has always been licensed under the CC-BY-SA, for a long time this was in evidence in the footer of all pages (exemplesin 2016). In 2021, when they were updating their website, the footer disappeared, so I wrote to the library for information (mail of 2021, 17th december). Elisa Brighenti rassured me that the website still was in CC-BY-SA (mail of 2021, 20th december). At this period, the license has been moved in a specific page, but it was always in CC-BY-SA 4.0 (exemples in 2024and in 2022), however it was less visible (politically it is a weaker choice, by the way). So, I created this property on Wikidata Cartigli di Bologna ID (P9327) to encourage the use of the Salaborsa website as a source, with the endorsement of the library. In 2024, libraries of Bologna were selected for a Wikimedia Italia grant, here is the project of the Settore biblioteche e welfare culturale Comune di Bologna, confirming their focus on free content and their collaboration with our community and wikimedian chapter. The library has changed the license of the website after their GLAM project, and also they changed it without alerting us, volunteers, who had organised a lot of events in Biblioteca Salaborsa and in other libraries of Bologna for more than a decade. This is shocking me, I hope it is just an error.
Hello @Virginia Gentilini@Divudi85@LaSindaca, can you help me understand what is going on? Can the CC-BY-SA license be restored, please? Una tantum (talk) 09:00, 10 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Adeletron 3030 about this specific image File:Compagnia dell'Arte dei Brentadori edificio - Sala Borsa.webp: in the source page there is written "content published the 22 june 2017, updated the 23 december 2023 ("Contenuto inserito il 22 giu 2017 — Ultimo aggiornamento il 23 dic 2023"). At this dates the website still was under the CC-BY-SA 4.0 license (you can verify it easily, In the Wayback Machine, search for https://www.bibliotecasalaborsa.it/ or http://www.bibliotecasalaborsa.it/*, then select the tab "URLS" and write "diritti-di-utilizzo" in the form at the right: you will found a lot of captures of the license pages in the past, with their differents urls. So, can you consider it available for removing the disclaimer of this specific image? Una tantum (talk) 09:26, 10 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the Wayback Machine link. I’ve removed the no permissions tag. Adeletron 3030 (talk) 10:56, 10 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
