English: The stage-discharge curve showing relationship between flow depth upstream of the gate and discharge through the gate. Flow depth increases to over come choke, and flow rate through the gate increases as a result of higher flow depth upstream of the gate until the steady state flow depth, at which point flow depth needs not increase anymore because steady state level has been reached. |
